RAILWAY SUBSTATION SYSTEM
VISUAL CONTROL PANEL DEFINITION
Visual Control Panel (VCP) is a panel which controls and monitors the traction power substation locally. It is a touch screen
operated based on HMI which runs on embedded PC.
LINKED BRAKE DEVICE DEFINITION
The Linked Brake Device (LBD) panel is an instrument which connects one power substation to another in order to generate the
intertripping. This is a protection function to prevent the neighbour power substation being abnormally loaded. The host and the
neighbour substation exchange the status through the LBD panel. They use fiber optic as a communication media interface and
the ethernet TCP/IP as the communication protocol. Whenever a problem happened, such as short circuit, the host LBD will send
the trip command (status) to its neighbour. When this status is received, the neighbour will do the trip.
The Interconnection Panel is used for aquiring all data from 20KV panel, 6KV panel, Rectifier, DC Switchgear, and overall other
panels. It uses modbus TCP communication and OPC server. This panel acts as a buffer data and mangement data to be accessed
by HMI or SCADA.
